Ikarus 120e
Innovation has always played a key role in our activities at Ikarus.
As a result of developments initiated in 2016, Ikarus developed and presented the first electric bus with a European-type authorization, designed and manufactured in Hungary by the fall of 2020.
The Ikarus 100% electric bus is available in both 2-door and 3-door versions.
Ikarus’s 125-year bus design and production experience and know-how appear in the Ikarus electric bus. The Ikarus 120e was designed from the ground up as an electric bus, for long life and reliable operation:
- excellent range and favorable consumption, also confirmed by bus operators,
- electronically controlled braking system for fast reaction and efficient recuperation that increases range,
- extremely low-weight water-cooled electric motor, which has proven its reliability in tens of thousands of electric buses,
- safe and robust LiFePo battery technology,
- a dashboard designed and developed from the ground up for an electric bus, indicators for energy-saving driving,
- framework made of stainless steel, which can serve at least 2 battery cycles without renovation.
Ikarus adapts high-quality buses to the unique needs of the user, which is made possible by control systems designed for high flexibility by Ikarus software engineers and flexible series production technology. During the production of purely electric buses, the domestic added value exceeds 50%.
